As a Claims Handler, you manage complex liability and bodily injury cases from A to Z within a highly specialised environment linked to the healthcare sector. You operate at the intersection of legal analysis, human impact and technical expertise, where each file requires nuance, structure and sound judgment.
You act as a trusted point of contact for all stakeholders involved, ensuring clarity, fairness and efficiency throughout the process. This is not about volume, but about quality and depth.

This is a freelance assignment starting in May/June 2026, for a minimum duration of 6 months, where your autonomy and expertise truly make the difference.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex liability and bodily injury claims from A to Z
- Analyse claims declarations, contracts and legal context critically
- Collect and assess legal, medical, and technical evidence
- Act as a central point of contact for all stakeholders involved
- Monitor and apply developments in Belgian liability law and jurisprudence
Must have
- Master’s degree in Law
- First relevant experience in liability and/or bodily injury (insurance or legal context)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Fluent in French, with working knowledge of Dutch
- Autonomous, structured, and able to manage files independently
Nice to have
- Experience as a lawyer or within a legal practice
- Background in insurance (claims, liability, medical risks)
- Knowledge of Belgian civil liability law
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Motivation to grow into a niche specialist
