Credit Controller

Meise, Belgium

As a Credit Controller, you'll be part of the Accounting team and work closely with colleagues from Finance, Treasury, Commercial, Property Management and Legal across multiple countries. You'll play an important role in managing outstanding customer and tenant receivables, ensuring timely follow-up, supporting customer queries and contributing to accurate financial reporting.

In addition to credit control activities, you'll support treasury processes, assist colleagues with accounting-related tasks and contribute to projects within an international organisation. This is a varied role where accuracy, collaboration and a proactive approach are key to achieving shared objectives. 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and follow up outstanding customer and tenant receivables across multiple countries.
  • Analyse outstanding balances and take appropriate action, including sending payment reminders and proactively contacting customers.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Support the Legal team in handling customer disputes.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on outstanding receivables for internal stakeholders.
  • Execute weekly payment runs, perform related compliance checks and process intra-group transfers.
  • Support treasury activities by assisting with the follow-up of loans and interest payments.
  • Assist colleagues across different departments with accounting-related tasks and specific projects.
  • Contribute to finance projects within an international organisation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared objectives.

Must have

  • A higher education degree with a background in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • Fluent in Dutch, French and English, with strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to customer interactions.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Accurate, well organised and able to work efficiently under pressure.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SAP.
  • Previous experience in a Credit Control or finance environment.
  • Experience working within an international organisation.
  • Flexibility to support a variety of finance and accounting tasks.
  • An interest in contributing to cross-functional projects.
