Ernest Partners is an independent debt advisory boutique specialised in financing solutions for mid-sized and corporate businesses. The team supports organisations in navigating complex funding challenges and works closely with management teams, shareholders, banks and alternative lenders to structure sustainable financing solutions.

As Director – Debt Advisory, you take a leading role in developing and managing debt advisory mandates from the first client conversation through to the successful completion of the transaction. You work directly with CEOs, CFOs and business owners, helping them assess financing options, analyse liquidity positions and structure negotiations with banks and alternative lenders.

This is a senior advisory role for someone who combines commercial insight with strong financial expertise and values trust, clarity and long-term professional relationships. Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead debt advisory mandates within the Belgian mid-corporate and corporate market
  • Advise management teams on debt structuring, refinancing and liquidity solutions, including scenario analysis and funding assessments
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with banks and lenders, guiding negotiations towards well-aligned agreements
  • Translate complex financial structures into clear recommendations for decision-makers
  • Contribute to the continued development of the advisory practice, including knowledge sharing, process improvement and supporting the growth of the team

Must have

  • At least 10 years of experience in corporate banking, structured debt or debt advisory
  • A strong track record in developing business and maintaining senior client relationships
  • Solid analytical skills and the ability to assess liquidity, risk and funding scenarios with clarity
  • Master’s degree in finance, economics, management or equivalent
  • Native or fluent Dutch, strong English, and French at C1 level, enabling you to conduct professional internal and external meetings with ease

Nice to have

  • Experience in refinancing or restructuring situations
  • An established network within the Belgian corporate banking or lending landscape
  • Familiarity with a broad range of debt instruments and financing structures
  • A collaborative and partnership-oriented mindset
  • Strong financial modelling and presentation skills
